Dubai – A Tourist’s Dream Destination

dubaiThe first thing that comes into the minds of travelers when they hear the name Dubai is that it is so modern and the city is filled with mega structures where the richest of the rich play around. It encapsulates the traditional and conservative ways of the locals and carries it with advanced technology and ways of living. Dubai is a city with continuous advancement and development not only on land but in the sea as well. Take for example the 7-star hotel, the Burj Al-Arab and the residence of the filthy rich, The Palm, which are both built on water. Located in the middle of a desert, Dubai has overcome the confinements of its location and has built a beautiful city on it. Dubai has a little something for every type of traveler.

Dubai is a city that is built for travelers since it is sectioned by destination and area. It has an efficient mass transportation system that is at par with the best cities in the world. With its sheer volume of buses, trains and taxis, travelers will not find it difficult to go around the city. To make the most out of a limited stay, here are the said areas where one traveler can visit one day at a time.

The Bur Dubai is the ‘Old’ Dubai where travelers can find The Souks, The Dubai Museum, the Olod villages and houses along the Promenade and the Meena Bazaar.

The area of Deira can be reached by dhow (boat), which is nearby Bur Dubai. The sites to be seen here include The Spice Souk, The Gold Souk, Karama that showcases the Asian aspect of the city, Burjuman Mall and the Festival City mall.

Downtown Dubai is where the modern side of Dubai takes place. It is the home to the big hotel chains and office skyscrapers. The foremost of all skyscrapers in the world, the Burj Khalifa is found here together with the beautiful Dubai Fountains. For shopping, there is the Dubai Mall.

Jumeirah is another area of interest. The coastal area is home to the Jumeirah Mosque. For relaxation, travelers can go to Jumeirah Beach. Burj Al-Arab stands tall in its waters. The madinat Jumeirah, Wild Wadi Waterpark and Majlis Ghorfat Um-Al-Sheef are found here.

Lastly, there is the Dubai Marina, which is another advanced and modern side of Dubai but still in the development stage. The Palm Jumeira, Ski Dubai, The Atlantis and The Lost Chamber Aquarium are all tourist attractions that are known to be topnotch spots for tourist from all over the world. The Dubai Marina is also a shopping haven as it is home to few of the biggest malls in the city namely: Festival City Mall, Mall of Emirates and the Ibn Batuta Mall, which are all points of interest of the place.
